Little Masters Project

As a volunteer, I help in an initiative to bring free musical instruments and free lessons to Delaware kids in need. I am a volunteer for the Little Masters Project at the University of Delaware (UD). LMP helps the under-served children in our state. LMP offers these children free instruments and free music lessons during afterschool hours at the University of Delaware to show them the enjoyment of playing a musical instrument and what a college campus looks like so they can look forward to going to college. I think music can help their studies as well. LMP students also get to perform on big stages at UD with famous musicians and us volunteers who play music. We also bring them to perform at retirement homes, community centers, and libraries so they can express themselves with their talents and hard work, and how their music can bring joy and “magic power” to others in need.

What I do as a volunteer:

  • Recruit my friends and classmates to volunteer at LMP
  • Raise money to support the children of LMP (to buy them food, music books, instruments and lessons) Here is a LINK and I hope you will join me to support these children
  • Help with recording attendance
  • Help with instrument set up
  • Help the children to practice
  • Help as concert crew during their concerts
  • Take some of them to dinner sometimes with my parents to be their friend and show my care
